Cafe Royal Books at Stills
We’re delighted that one of Robert’s images is on display as part of the Cafe Royal Books show at Stills Gallery in Edinburgh. The limited edition boxset is also available to purchase at the gallery, along with other Cafe Royal Books publications.

Scotland Once Was – Photographic Exhibition
A joint exhibition at Gallery Close in Edinburgh, featuring the photography of Robert Blomfield and Jim Downie.
On display will be some of Robert’s most popular images of Edinburgh.
Jim Downie is a former art director who turned his hand to photography having worked with some of the biggest names in the business. This show includes his series of pictures based around family photographs he found in a shoe box in his Mother’s house.
Gallery-Close is one of Scotland's few commercial photography galleries which represents a number of elite photographers. The gallery is situated in the heart of the historic Georgian New Town in Edinburgh. It exhibits a variety of photographic work and individually themed exhibitions throughout the year.
Student of Light
An exhibition at the University’s Main Library gallery celebrating Robert’s time as a medical student at the University, entitled Robert Blomfield: Student of Light, will open on 6 May 2022 and will show throughout the summer.
For the first time we will be showcasing some of Robert’s colour images as well as many previously unseen black and white images alongside some of the most iconic photos from his Edinburgh archive.
Online Talk: In Conversation with the family of the late Robert Blomfield
In this 'In Conversation' event, hosted by Edinburgh’s City Art Centre, the Blomfield family will discuss all the exciting things that have happened to the archive since 2018, including their new partnership with the University of Edinburgh and the forthcoming exhibition, as well as some reflections on their favourite photographs and personal memories of Robert Blomfield.

Incoming: New Acquisitions at the City Art Centre
In 2018-2019 the City Art Centre in Edinburgh premiered 'Robert Blomfield: Edinburgh Street Photography: An Unseen Archive' with unprecedented success and record visitor numbers. Since then, Robert’s photographs have been steadily gathering more critical acclaim and the City Art Centre are once again celebrating his photography as part of their exhibition 'Incoming: New Acquisitions at the City Art Centre'. The show presents a selection of paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculpture acquired within the last ten years and it includes two of Robert’s images as part of this collection.
